Dates

Hack Arizona 2026 will take place from April 25–26, 2026 at the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB), University of Arizona. 
All projects must be built during the 24-hour hackathon period.

Eligibility
  • Open to students of all skill levels
  • Participants must register for Hack Arizona 2026
  • Teams must consist of 2–4 members
  • Each participant can only be on one team
Project and Submission Requirements
  • All projects must be built from scratch during the hackathon
  • No previously built or ongoing projects are allowed
  • Use of open-source libraries, APIs, and AI tools is allowed
  • The core idea and implementation must be original
  • Each team may compete in only ONE sponsored track
  • Teams must submit their project on Devpost before the deadline

Required Submission Materials:

  • Working prototype or demo
  • 2-minute demo video
  • GitHub repository (public)
  • Project description (problem, solution, tech used)
Prizes
  • Each track will have unique prizes provided by sponsors
  • Sponsored tracks may include:
    • Tech prizes (e.g., mechanical keyboards, swag, gift cards)
    • Internship opportunities (track-dependent)
  • Additional Hack Arizona awards will be presented during the closing ceremony
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Projects will be evaluated based on:

  • Problem understanding and impact
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Technical execution and functionality
  • Real-world applicability and scalability
  • Presentation and communication

Judging will follow a science fair format, where judges visit teams and evaluate projects in person. Final decisions are made by judges.

Important Rules
  • No Old Projects: All work must be done during the event
  • Team Size: 2–4 participants per team
  • One Track Rule: Only one sponsored track per team
  • Strict Deadline: Late submissions will NOT be accepted under any circumstances
Code of Conduct

All participants must follow the MLH Code of Conduct.
This includes being respectful, inclusive, and professional throughout the event.
